Redshift

My mind takes
flight and I trespass
the boundaries
of redshift galaxies,
light speed jumps
blending with stardust

                   to shield my wings
                   from a reentry burn.

Paradoxical dramas
sculpt the solitariness
my heart has
endured through five
millennia of my lives, but

                          I’d rather fly solo than
                          taste a lukewarm kiss.

“The human being is the only component of creation that can oppose, or that has a propensity to oppose, its essential function. Only the human being is capable of an ambition to dominate nature: to hate, to nullify peace, or even aspire to an understanding of her or his inner essence.”
