Hourglass

I am a shadow walker
of the ancient ways—I
have no beginning,
nor shall I end.

By Earth I was
risen, though Sun sets
me free, and Moon
rains stars into my eyes.

Wind carries my whisper
across the great seas,
by many names you know
me.

Worthwhile it would
be that I am remembered,
listen wisely to my words.

                       There’s no more sand
                       in your hourglass.
