Winter Sun

Trees mimic death,
                  an involuntary
    relent to the

             ruthless cold.

Winter sun
                  withholds her
    fickle warmth,

             we wrestle with

inadvertent
                  contemplations,
    pining for malice

             toward others.

Our imprudent
                   gambles with
    spiritual seppuku,

             delicate two-steps

with our thoughts,
                    liberating
    peace doves

              from sand dollars.
