Scraps

Sailing the crosswinds
Of my consciousness often
Consumes me; journeys

Not usually feasible
Except by chronological
Incursions into veiled

Dimensions ordinarily
Exclusive to hummingbirds
And tidal mists never

Shared with pretenders
Who choose to smother me
With insincerity while

Scavenging scraps of
My sacred energy, but their
Efforts to breach the

Fragile boundaries
Of my exposed soul will
Leave them wounded

“Whereas mindfulness is the awareness of influences, inner work is the management of those influences. A human being’s decisions around how to be influenced and how to influence, are wholly the domain of inner work.”

Taylor, Rob. The Irreducible Primary: A Dialogue on Nature, Spirituality, and the Human Condition (p. 92). Rob Taylor. Kindle Edition.
