Mea Culpa

It all fades, those peculiar
Necessities that abstract our
Rationale, offering mortal

Pleasures, but only in
Our less subtle imaginations,
At least until we realize

Our souls tinker with
Cerebral matter and play us like
a wayward lyric tragedy,

Or so we assure ourselves,
Denying mea culpa liabilities
Clumsily collected during

Incense chants performed to
Free us of precisely those traits,
A metaphysical paradox

Pleading rapprochement, but
We defer to unclaimed tomorrows
And question why we suffocate

“Mindfulness is the moment-to-moment comprehension of all experiences and conditions presented to us in real time. In the context of inner work, time is the distance between what we believe to be true and our spiritual fulfillment achieved through the experiential, incontrovertible realization of actual truth.”
