Stasis

I was once predisposed
To counterfeit pleasures
I now apprehend to be

Nothing more than
Thin-skinned diversions
Acted out in dimly lit

Episodes constructed
Around self-preservation
Instincts serving as my

Lifeline during abyssal
Jaunts through life altering
Perplexities that exposed

My inner nescience for
I had become the ultimate
Antithesis of myself

Yet, I detected overtures
Of peace and pondered the
Stasis of my mind until

It was no longer tolerable
And the cosmos quivered as
I recaptured my freedom
